LOCATIONS
![]() WARNER ISLE Where everybody arrives. The isle has roughly a two-mile radius (it's technically an island) and is surrounded by sharp crags in nearly every direction save for the southeastern area, through which new arrivals are brought in. |
![]() THE HOLE So-called for its being the only accessible opening out to the sea, the Hole is a strip of beach that can accommodate several dinghies at a time, during the right tide. The Hole often disappears when the waters rise, making it tricky for the Santa Maria to send new arrivals over from the ship. |
![]() THE BLOCK A long rectangle of a building, the Warner Isle Penitentiary - nicknamed the Block by its workers - can house up to 2,000 inmates at maximum capacity. The building isn't fenced, as the warden feels there's no need for it. It looks smaller on the outside, we promise. |
![]() isolation room Nobody likes the box. Single-occupancy closet space with the lights on 24/7; what's there to like? |
![]() THE CELLS These cells look fancy, don't they? Each cell can house up to four inmates, and is furnished with individual lockers (that are always at risk of random inspection). There's a modicum of privacy, but then, how much of it is really there? |
![]() THE SHOWERS It can get really crowded in here. |
![]() mess hall Decked out in primary colors, the mess hall's decor and color scheme is said to have been designed to stimulate the appetite. Jury's out on whether or not it's true. |
![]() swimming pool Everyone needs to exercise, and what better way to do it than by swimming? (It's almost like they're daring you to escape, doesn't it?) |
![]() THE LIBRARY For those who prefer the peace and quiet of the written word, the library welcomes them with open arms. Only during free hours, of course. |
![]() INTERROGATION ROOM Where the bad boys and girls go when they're caught being naughty. You don't want to get caught, trust us. |
![]() Administration building What's going on in there? |
![]() THE morgue For those who tried, and won't get to try again. It's not a fun place to be. |
